Formerly known as just Kids' Week, this was started many years ago by Eileen Clayton as a way of getting youngsters interested in the FR. Current legislation means that children may be allowed to work only as part of a training programme, hence the new name.

It has been very successful and is always oversubscribed. Many current regular volunteers started through Kids' Weeks in the past.

It is currently organised by Adrian Gray and Howard Wilson and usually takes place in early August.

Since 2016 this event has been renamed Young Volunteers' Training Week.
