Quarry Power Weekend

Quarry Power Weekend, held on the 14th to 16th September 2012, was an event set around the Welsh Highland Railway with events taking place at Dinas and Beddgelert. Along with several of the home fleet locos, a number of visiting locomotives paid a visit to the railway.

The visiting locomotives included:

• Bronllwyd
• Winifred
• Stanhope
• Eigiau

The Saturday of the event saw at Dinas the locos lined up against the coal road wall to replicate the original scrapline. The Nantlle Silver Band provided the music to enhance the sense of nostalgia before the cavalcade made its way towards Beddgelert. At Beddgelert the cavalcade of engines stormed up the "S" bends individually before being joined back together for the journey back to Porthmadog.
