Maenofferen Tank Waggon Slab 25

The Maenofferen tank wagon is built on long slab waggon chassis No.25 (Built FR Co. at Boston Lodge). It was acquired from Maenofferen Quarry in October 2015 with a tank fitted. The tank, numbered 'No 5', was probably fitted by the quarry. Tanks visible on right hand side of photo iBase 1898 are very similar but fitted to wooden under frames, 25 is possibly a conversion from one of these. Restoration of this waggon commenced immediately after acquisition and was complete in time for the Ocotober 2016 Vintage Weekend.^[1]
